These lights made little or no difference over the standard lights in my vehicle. I travel rural roads quite frequently and was looking for brighter headlights to hopefully avoid some of the problems I encounter. Was hoping these were as good as advertised.
My original equipment light swere making it hard to see, back roads, turns, edge of road etc, my NEW Lights are great improved visability for the no lit roads. GREAT.
This $41.00 fix was much better. It's scary enough sending a 16 year old out on the road.As a parent you have to do everything you can to help them be safe.seeing is at the top of that list and these helped so much:) We were about to the point that we were going to get a different car. These are everything they claim to be. My daughter drives a 98 sunfire ( her first car). She complained that she couldn't see at night when driving home ( we live out in the boonies) I got her a new set of heatlights as the covers on the old ones had a film on them. You would have thought that would have made a difference.but nothing. We then bought a set of Hallogen bulbs.they were supposed to be great.the "blue light" lights.looked cool but still couldn't see.Well I ordered these and put them in.My daughter drove home from town and couldn't believe how well she could finally see. YAY. Trust me I'm still worried about her out on the road.but these lights help my anxiety.
I figured they can't be as bright as when new and Amazon had a great deal on Ultra's so I decided to replace mine. None.
At least I have the old set as replacements.I know they're awesome. For 1, I'm extremely thrilled with how well the Silver Stars have performed and lasted, but disappointed in the Ultra's for being no better despite the claimed color and pattern difference.
Not brighter, no noticeable pattern difference.nothing.I had 1 replaced so I went ahead and replaced the other. Now, if they'll last at least 5+ years.
I hate to give only 3 stars, and I bumped that up from 2 out of guilt, but in the Silver Star line up, they're no better than standard Silver Stars.I've had the same set is SS's in my truck for over 5 years. I did so 1 at a time, at night, to see the difference.
If I had gone from stock to the Ultras I would have been thrilled with a huge improvement. The price usually isn't much difference so either one will be a huge improvement over stock, but I'd buy whichever was cheaper; don't expect them to actually perform batter than the 1 step down Silver Stars.
I tried some other after-market headlight improvements for my Nissan Frontier because the stock headlights stunk. These were by far the best and brightest.
